Delicious Recipes: Artichoke Dip

We should all know by now that detox products don’t work. Our bodies can eliminate harmful substances through our organs fine on their own, thanks. What you can do is eat foods which promote the health of your detoxifying organs like the liver, kidneys, and intestines, like artichokes! Here is one of Planetfem’s most delicious recipes to help you on your way.

Artichokes are high in the prebiotic inulin which helps to promote the formation of probiotics (the good bacteria) in the gut. Research has indicated that inulin and other prebiotic-containing foods might play a role in improving overall gut health, which can decrease the pressure on the liver’s detoxifying role.

This Artichoke Dip recipe is not only very tasty, it is also very healthy, simple and quick to make! Just how we like it!

Ingredients

a tin of artichokes, drained, or freshly prepped and baked artichokes

2cups of Grated Parmesan

1 cup of mayonnaise

Salt and pepper

 How to make it

Chop up the artichokes into small pieces. In a serving dish, mix together with the grated Parmesan cheese, and mayonnaise. Put in the over to bake on 350°F oven for 15 minutes.

Add salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.

Serve this delicious dip with your favourite crackers, toasted pitta, endive leaves, cheese sticks, or even stir into pasta for a delicious and healthy detox promoting dish! You can also add spinach or mushrooms, even asparagus to it before you put it in the oven. And if you are feeling really peckish, you could add some wild boar sausage to it then serve with a leafy salad! Perfect for winter or summer!
